Back in 1987 I created the universe as a result of me being born into this universe; both events happening simultaneously and as a direct result of each other.

Ever wondered what's in all those wooden crates (apart from the Ark of the Covenant) in this government warehouse (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/d/d5/Government_Warehouse.jpg)?
Check it out yourself here:

Ever get that "Truman Show" feeling? Like perhaps incidents in your life are being engineered for the entertainment of others, or when you drive through place you haven't been to before and it looks vaguiely similar to another place you've visited before, as though they've just redressed the set?

No, not necessarily paranoia.
Could be déjà visité (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/D%C3%A9j%C3%A0_vu#D.C3.A9j.C3.A0_visit.C3.A9), a type of déjà vu.

As a child I had a dream of a house that was elavated on a small hill, with a bent driveway up that hill.
I had that dream from the viewpoint out of a perambulator, at the same time I had an overview of the scene.
Years later I often came to locations of relatives and friends, which looked similar more or less and I always try to remember if it could be possible that I have been there before as a baby.

Another dream was about the housing estate where I lived back then, that had one particular street looking very different than it really was.
Most of the time when I came to that location in reality, I thought that around that corner there must be this or that feature, only to find the area completely different and then remembering my dream.

Frankly I'm not convinced that's any less ridiculous than They're Alien Spaceships. I mean, a time machine? A time machine and a magical hovering disc? A time machine and a magical hovering disc and no idea how to stop the ship glowing bright white and tipping everybody off?

The whole abduction experience thing is probably a drug effect. And thensome people are too stupid or taken aback by the whole thing that they forget that they have taken the drug in the first place.. so they report it to the media!

That is my #1 theory of thoose things.

Thing is, dreams are dreams, and I think people will indentify them. And if you dream about alien abduction, it will probably be a continuation of a ongoing dream or more dreaming after the event (unless you wake up). Also I don't think it will be as cloudy as the reports seem to be.. you will probably see your room as you are dragged off etc, and stuff never looks the same as in real life.
In short, there is too much that has to be just right in order for someone to be fooled by it. Not to mention a hangover :p

I found this:
http://www.a1b2c3.com/drugs/dmt06.htm

The best metaphor that I can come up with for what I went through is that of an alien abduction. It felt as though I was being examined and probed by a cold, unemotional, foreign presence whose intentions were unclear but seemed very sinister at the time. It was very disturbing, almost like a psychic rape.
