I had a problem with Worms running way way way too slow, which I sorted after about 2 days solid searching for problems, flicking switches and updating drivers etc etc... so now it's just playable, but it's still too slow!

I noticed, on my girlfriends laptop, exploisions didn't have those tiny cartoony clouds of smoke.. ever!! How do I remove them?

Is there also a way to lower the quality anymore, or anything to speed the game up?

It rather depends on what you really did already.

A safe way to more speed is better hardware, like a better video-card, a better CPU or more/better RAM, depending on what you already have.

You should also check the processes running in the background with the taskmanager or an alternative program, that shows more information about the processes. Kill as many of them as possible (Killing some of them may cause your Computer to break down, but no permanent harm can be done. Just use the reset switch if you went to far and can't do anything else).

Lowering the resolution might also help.

Sometimes it is something simple as defragmenting your harddrive.

If too much is messed up, a nice clean new installation of Windows usually helps to let things run smoother again.

if you don't have a reset button, holddown power for 5 secs

Yeah I've done everything I can think of without going out and getting new hardware.

I'll just grab a new comp, they're so cheap nowdays anyway!
