Well it IS 3 am here. I can't sleep. In fact, I think im back to pulling all nighters and sleeping half the day again. SO, what in the world IS there to do late at night when you can't sleep? Taco Bell is closed now...so that sucks....bleh... I could go drive around... Could play soldat but noones on...Go into random lesbian chat rooms and start screwing with people...meh. IM BORED! :(
What do you do while pulling an all nighter?

Some McDonald's are open 24 hours now... :p

The chatroom thing is a pretty awesome idea. Albeit mildly mean.

Mine claims it'll be back from the pub by morning. Like I'm falling for that again.

In all seriousness, something like The Sims 2 is ideal if you're into that type of game, because it's engrossing and doesn't require heavy use of brainpower.

The one a town over is one of those I think...yet... Im not sure I want to eat that. The breakfast just tears me up inside....I wonder when they start breakfast?

Usually all I can do when I can't sleep is stare at the alarm clock for hours.

I just got the Chicken Selects. There was a brief wait, but I think it was actually better than usual.

Edit: Then again, I was freaking hungry.

I stayed up until 4.30am before I decided to go to bed. Then I realised the sun was rising:-/

Happens to me quite a lot... i either program or draw... best time to do stuff is where there's no one around to annoy you... :)

During holidays I have a completely different day cycle. I'm up for about 40 hours before I crash and sleep for 15 or so. It's really quite annoying as I can't do anything about it; I'm unable to force myself to sleep as I do on schooldays.

Nights are boring. Try programming. That's what I usually do. Geeky, yes, but keeps you busy, doesn't it?

program, draw.. both good ideas. Couple of years ago i just went on hotornot.com untill i fell asleep. I would suggest sleeping pills but I have a habbit or not getting up again on those..... worms sometimes works, as long as the time zone behind you is still up, or ahead realy. You could probably catch the early morning brits.

Write. I just write whatever comes to mind, regardless of how stupid or incoherent it is. Alternately, I might pick up a book.

If my brain is too fried for either of these activities, I'll just listen to music.

Don't do it! You have so much to live for!

Like, er...

Drawing. And programming.

I tend to sleep when I try. It can take me a bit, especially if it's hot, but I get there eventually.
And unlike a lot of people here, I actually try to get to sleep by midnight. If I get less than 7 hours of sleep, my eyes are all nasty in the morning and I have to sleep through one class.

I'd suggest seeing how hard you can whack yourself on the head with a shovel until you black out.

Of course, you could have some problems if you can't sleep night after night.
And you'd have to live alone. Shovels are loud.

I try to get to sleep before 2am and get up before noon. It's getting less and less frequent.

Well... following the logic of your work...you could find a random woman on the street and tell her you want to f*** her until her eyes pop out... i'm sure you'll black out soon enough...

Although you might wake up in a police department cell...

It's threads like these that make me realize exactly how lucky I am that I (Generaly) don't have internet access at night.

I'd never sleep.

That's largely what moved me to a rather insane sleep schedule of my own, but having a job now takes priority -- under no circumstances whatsoever will I allow myself to get less than 7 hours of sleep, or I'll be paying for it in spades the next day. Maybe not the world's most effective incentive, but it works for me.

I feel like complaining to everybody that my sleep schedule is completely bonkers, because I'm a whiny little ******* who loves complaining about things like this!

Why, this is a good place to do it!

Yeah, I'm messed up. :-/ Maybe I should invest in a bottle of sleepers to try to get myself onto a consistent schedule, although that's a really drastic resort...

I tend to sleep pretty well most of the time.

Oh, great. Now you're all gonna hate me.

I'm pretty sure my problem is about 80% an utter lack of self-discipline.

Slightly less on-topic, I have a feeling I may have sleep apnea, or whatever it's called. I think my dad has it.

SupSuper
27 Jun 2006, 12:28
Sleep apnea?

*looks up on wiki*

Oh. Sounds bad.

I've been sleeping relatively well lately, but no longer have a fixed sleep schedule. It's just purely random: 5am to 11am, 3am to 1pm, 4am to 12pm, 2am to 9am, etc.

Zero72
27 Jun 2006, 12:30
If I do have it, it's a pretty mild case, but I've heard of people saying that they were actually waking up about 90 times an hour to breathe without knowing it.

I sometimes find myself doing it while falling asleep but not quite asleep yet.

Edit: And since I'm known never to snore or anything, this Wiki informs me that mine would be central sleep apnea, meaning my brain just fails to remind my lungs to work.

Welcome to the team ;) I just did a 3:30am to 12:30pm. Not looking forward to trying to fit into a 9 - 5 job....

I honestly lost track of how many times i spent the night awake and pulled 36 or even 48 hours days...

My college course is just... insane.. most people do that to finish their projects near the deadline... :)

Ooh, I wouldn't want to do it while working. That way, I feel sure, madness lies.
