http://www.google.com/searchhistory/

Assuming you have a Google account, and I'm pretty sure almost everyone on this board does, Google is now not only tracking your searches via cookies, they are also linking them to your account. Every single search. Yes, you can pause tracking and clear your previous results, but... eesh.

But that's a very good feature! Not a breach of privacy. If you don't like it you know what to do. Besides, anyone who uses Google are accepting their terms and conditions and are voluntarily letting them assign your IP address to your searches anyway if Google chooses to do that, so if someone doesn't like it they should stop using it. Google Desktop is the ultimate upgrade (OMG Cybermen!).

I like it to be honest. There are sites I don't have in my bookmarks that I easily forget otherwise.

Soon they'll buy a whole island for their servers.

They'll probably make a "GOOGLE" shaped island in Dubai.

Just make sure your parents don't figure out how to use it to track down the porn sites you've been visiting, and you'll be fine. :p Otherwise I don't really mind, and it probably helps things like Google Desktop pick news articles relevant to your interests.

Yeah like "New invention brings a new generation in wipe-clean sex toys!"

I love OD, I really do. Thank god this isn't public.

Well you have to be registered and logged in for it to keep track of your search history, so just make sure you log off Google before handing the computer to someone else.

Personally I would make more use of the feature if Google actually REMEMBERED to log me in every time I go there, since for me Googling doesn't include logging in.

Google does remember. Otherwise the personal homepage would be worthless.

Google does remember. Otherwise the personal homepage would be worthless. Not with me, even if I repeatedly tell it to "Remember me on this computer.", and yes cookies are working fine.
