Hard to guess if it's new.

Ok then.

When was the last racing or fighting game T17 made? Or shoot-em up?

Racing: Stunt GP (2001)
Fighting: Ultimate Body Blows (1994)
Shoot-em up: X2 (1996) [Phoenix - Deep Space Ressurection (1999) is more a space-sim]

I really, really hope for Worms Battle Rally.

Would Worms Battle Rally be classified as new or old? Because the idea is old, right?

There was an idea that John Dennis told me about in a pub after a video games industry seminar him and Martyn presented at Teesside University a couple of years back. It was something totally new that their (then) publishers wouldn't let them do, but now they have different publishers i'm hoping he got the go-ahead because it sounded good. Some artwork i saw at Team17 HQ during the Worms 3D focus testing also suggested that this game idea was popular with the Team17 crew.

Something new could be anything, really. Well, anything that isn't old...

I could, for example, say "It will be a game about time-travelling French cheese, and be called Fromage to Eternity" and at this stage we have real evidence either way, common sense aside ;).

Not too recent then

I didn't sign anything, and he told me about it during a pub conversation, it's just he was rather secretive about the actual details so i wouldn't want to say anything out of respect, and obviously i gave my word i wouldn't talk about the things i saw at Team17 HQ. It was just an idea though, he said he'd drawn up a design doc and it got rejected by their publishers, so i have no idea if this "something new" is the same game.
