if your having problems joining it's probably the person your joining's fault, make sure that they have w2mc running to switch their IP to their remote IP... also for you, make sure you have port 47624 forwarded if your behind a firewall/router

hope this helps, if not post again

if after port forwarding doesnt work try disabling your firewall entirely. (because some of them are stubborn)

your problem may be because your computer is using your local IP: 192.x.x.x -- w2mc can manually input your remote IP into worms -- you can go to www.whatismyip.com and put that ip into w2mc and then when frontend.exe is running you can click setnew ip, it wil input that into worms -- then when you house the other person will be trying to connect to your real IP, not the local IP, which only you can access...

hope this helps

PS, hope this guide helps - Its not meant to be patronising in anyway. Its just easier to communicate if i use images with few words so someone with English as not their first language can understand! Good Luck!

hope this guide helps
Yes, it did.
For some strange reason i haven't been able to change my IP adress for the last few years, although I did the exact same things.
Now I installed W2 again and I can host again.

Also, I play the game in 1280*1024 screen resolution and in English language instead of German.
Nice!

Also, I play the game in 1280*1024 screen resolutionYou have a weird monitor. That is not 4:3 ratio.

adamrigdon

its 5:4 which is almost as standard as 4:3 now with bigger monitors

Lex

I suppose that's true, though I haven't personally seen anyone with a 5:4 monitor. I've seen 16:9 and 4:3, though I have seen 5:4 monitors in online shops. It unmatters though. I was just telling him that in case his monitor was actually a 4:3 monitor and his Worms image is squashed, which is something that happened to me a while ago. ;)

My BenQ FP91G+ (http://www.benq.us/Products/LCD/index.cfm?product=574) indeed is a 5:4 monitor.

the guide from NUKE was good but the W2MCc cant detect my worms 2.
when i install the game Ive change the install directory from C harddrive to D harddrive is that the problem?

Nuke

Im not sure if installing on D:/ would matter.

You have to have the game open when you use W2MC. So i guess step 6 should be:

Step Six:
- Open Worms2
- Open the file you extracted!
- Change the game to "Worms2 version 1.005"
- Click "Refresh Information"
- Enter in the IP you have, from the website www.whatismyip.com
- Click the button "Set New IP"

If that doesnt work, then I guess W2MC needs worms2 installed on the C:/ drive :(

The problem here may be that the person hosting has not changed their IP - so they are the ones with the problem.

Otherwise...
Firewalls - ie Norton
- Have you let "frontend.exe" and "worms2.exe" through your firewall?

Routers
- Are you using a router to connect to the internet? You will need to forward some ports :o

Go here: http://www.portforward.com/routers.htm
- Choose your router
- Choose Worms Armageddon
- Input the following ports:
TCP : 17000
TCP : 6667

you can port forward in your firewall aswell as your router... as a matter of fact i would assme that it be reccomended you port forward the neccesary ports in both areas.

I cannot host nor join a Worms 2 online game!

I've downloaded the w2mcc.zip thingy and done as mentioned above, but still no luck. My friend's not able to join my game and I am not able to join his.

We are both behind routers.

I've changed to the correct IP (the one I got from www.portforward.com).

I've also disabled my F-Secure firewall completely.

I've got Worms 2 1.0.0.7 version.

What can be wrong?

When I try to join my friend's game, it says: "Now searching for game" or something, but nothing happens after that.

Any other ideas, anyone?

Thankies in advance.

did your friend do the same thing? and did you port forward or just change your ip address?
