View Full Version : Have a merry sequential date!

01-02-03-04-05-06!
At 1:02 a.m. and three seconds on Wednesday, April 5, 2006, it will be the first hour of the day, the second minute of the hour, the third second of that precious minute in the fourth month and the fifth day of the sixth year.
So at 1:02 a.m., we'll have a total sequential date. YAY!
Unless your society puts the day before the month. If that happens, you'll have to wait until May 4th.
This is a weird thing that none of you would probably celebrate, but I've always noticed patterns in the days. For instance, 2002 is the last palindrome year that I will ever live through. (I've been through the one before, 1991, but I won't be able to see 2112.)

Ooh, yes. Got another one to look forward to.
But the thing about that is that we get one every year. We're never going to get a constant count up like this again unless the calendar gets set back in the future for some reason.
This is the only year we can ever celebrate it. The only other way there could be another count-up is something like 1:23:45 67/89/10. But we're not going to get 67 months in a year unless we all move out to Pluto.

I knew I should have stayed up after going to the loo at midnight...

Edit- Oh, wait! I'm British! My sequential date is in May!

Looks like I'm going to have to wait another month.

Well, that's nothing new to a British computer games fan (b-doomp tssh)

I preferred 20:02 on 20/02/2002

ALso PB, that doesn't really work because they need to increase like 1st second of the 2nd minute of the 3rd hour of the 4th day of the 5th month of the 6th year

So April 5th isn't a true one because the day and month are swapped around.

The way digital clocks print the time is hour:minute:second, and then Month/day/year.
You'd have to say it the way you said it for it to work that way, you can't just print the time.

Pigbuster, the proper way is to go from either most significant to least significant, or vice versa. Interestingly enough, the predicted date (using the proper date format) lands on Star Wars day.

Alien King has found the anniversary of the end of WW2 ;).

The opposite of this event was 6:05:04 on the 3rd of February, 2001.

In one hundred years we will have the same time. Also in one thousand years. It isn't going to be 4/5/106, because we didn't refer to 1998 as x/x/998. If you do make that point, than this has already happened before, in the year 6, and it's not gonna happen again.

I can't wait for 6/6/6, though.

Pigbuster

There never was a 6/6/0006, our current calendar system was invented long after.

The idea of it being sequential has nothing to do with how it is shown on clocks. For it to be sequential the things must be increasing of decreasing (in the right order): seconds --> minutes --> hours --> day --> month --> Year

Or otherwise I could just swap everything around like crazy.

01/2002/03 04:05:06

The way clocks are done like that are wrong but people think they are right. It should always be increasing or decreasing but it is generally accepted to be increasing. I don't know what crackpot fool decided to swap the month and day around.

Pigbuster
7 Apr 2006, 00:41
The thing about this, though, is that it would actually look like 1-6 on a digital clock.
Say what you will about the clocks being wrong, it's still the way they are.

We also may switch to a different calendar system in the future.

Also, I should have known that Boards of Canada would make full use of such a date. http://www.warprecords.com/mart/music/release.php?cat=WAP200

Yes, but the beast is supposed to be the antichrist, which has strong links with the devil.

Also, its stupid because Jesus and the Apostles wouldn't have used the gregorian calender.

That would be 1966, last (and only) time England won the world cup incidentaly.
