We've had quite a few successful sig fads where everyone in OD puts a specific line in their sig, but how about we used something that's a little more noticeable -- avatars!
We could start slowly, with, for example, the avatar getting an added frame with some text that flashes by occasionally. Or we could simply replace our avs with something silly, such as elderly soap stars and TV hosts, etc.

I'm not sure if that was OD exclusive or not, though.
The flashing text would have to be really unnoticeable and subliminal for me to be interested in that, and to do that, the avatar would have to be 60 fps or something.
But I'm all for the elderly soap stars and/or TV hosts.
How about we just choose out favorite forum smiley and use that for an avatar?
I don't know...it could be cray-zay!

Well, this is the next logical step. It's also a lot more noticeable.

I have a good idea for another one. We could all use the red X that IE displays when it can't use the picture. Obviously if only one person does it, it won't work. But if lots of us do it some may actually think the image isn't loading.

Let's use the avatars that came with the original wormnet snooper (ftp://ftp.team17.com/pub/t17/goodies/wa_setupsnooper.exe)!

Or, we could just all use this thing, but give each OD member a random Non ODer's name to replace the "Splapp". That would confuse them to buggery. For example someone could have "No, Akuryou13 is Brian Blessed" and someone else could have "No, Psyke is Brian Blessed" etc...

So does Opera. In fact, it doesn't use a symbol. It replaces the picture with transparent box displaying the image's Alt property in the HTML code.

The limit was tightened quite a while ago. First from 20-something to 12, then to its current limit, if I recall. So if you were to change avatars, you wouldn't be able to put that one back up.

It might have started when he said he preferred my debating style to Andrew's, presumably on the basis that I try not to get angry in internet debates regardless of how justified the anger is.
I concede that I don't bring up religion/politics in my cartoons, but it still strikes me as odd.

"there" is where annoying sub-fads originate, in attempt to gain fame of some sort. (OO or MSN or some fan forum, I guess)
