First of all, Calm down! If nobody else got the error but you, then it must your computer. It's common sense, which is clearly something you don't have. You also told me what happened. "Fatal Error". Don't you remember anything?:-/

EDIT: Plasma and I chatted on MSN, and we agreed that the wierd thing on Plasma's head is a communicator that's used to channel his 'lord'.

Yes, I think the 4th Demo would be the final before the First Version of the game (V. 1.0.0) is released, since I don't want to give too much away. I think I'll probably release once I get to the part where you enter Alien King's lair. By that time, you would've done all of this:
- Killed Plasma
- Killed Plasma's Boss
- Killed Tactica (You'll know who he is soon)
- Found The Glove of Power (Mentioned in Mission 07 By Iguana)
- Killed **CONFIDENTIAL** (...:) )
- Found Alien King's Lair. (After Searching, Of Course)

Then you go onto:
- Find AK
- Kill AK
- Retrieve **CONFIDENTIAL** From AK
- Kill **CONFIDENTIAL**
- **CONFIDENTIAL** Activates **CONFIDENTIAL**
- **CONFIDENTIAL**

Of Course, These are all general. The **CONFIDENTIAL** Parts are already planned but I'm not revealing any more information other than **CONFIDENTIAL**.
HINT: The guy at the end of Demo 3 is somewhere in there, and he's NOT Tactica.

anyway, the demo seems good but the passwords don't seem to be working

edit: turns out it's just because you spelt thief wrong

and chase doesn't even exist as a password

alright is spelt with only one L too

and please get rid of the transition effects between screens. it's irritating

Actually, The AK mentioned in the list and the **CONFIDENTIAL** after it are connected in a way so you're not killed.

Yes, I forgot to put the password for "Manhatten Project". But I already fixed that right after I put the demo out.

PASSWORD PROBLEMS:
Only enter passwords once you're at least 4 seconds into the game. That should fix the problems with the passwords not working.

I'm onto Mission 09 now. It's a big rescue mission.

2. they get tedious very quickly as it means unnecessary waiting

They're very irritating, and shows that you didnt make them to suit the game.

And the bad gun rotation thing is fairly annoying me now. It's a very easy bug to solve, presuming that you are good at solving logic problems. Otherwise, you haven't really got what it takes to be a good programmer.

They're faster and stronger. The Overheat meter at the top-right also has a smaller maximum, which means that you overheat faster. And to top it off, the goal is further than it was in Mission 03.in my opinion, they are faster and weaker, the overheat meter is longer, and the goal is shorter.

also, "voilent beast" is still there:p

They might be annoying, but the game actually loads while it's in transitions. If you don't like them, then you're going to have a white screen for a couple of seconds.

Maybe you're just too good ;)

I've already used the sprite for violent beast too many times so I can't change it.

The game system is handeled differently than Game Maker. Once you use a sprite and change it in one level, you must change it in all the other levels as well, which is a real pain. Trust me, it is. I'm working hard on the rotation currently. As I mentioned before, I have to copy the events associated with it and paste it in every other battle, not to mention change the color of the hand for some of them.

I know how to do it in GML. The coding is easy. But I use a different engine on TGF which doesn't allow me to do that.

I've seen this engine many times before. It's the easyest engine to make after a basic platformer.

Could be.

I've seen this engine many times before. It's the easiest engine to make after a basic platformer.
Grammer Mistake lol. Anyway, the platformer parts aren't as emphasized as the non-platformer parts (AKA Bosses, Fight Scenes, etc...)

Damn, Kenny, you sure are into this!

Progress Report:
For the next mission, as I said before, Iguana gets captured by Tactica (Remember Him?). Kenny and Faraz have to go rescue him from Plasma's Boss' base. Since Plasma's boss is like one of those power-crazy scientists that creates those wierd but powerful things, there's a new stealth system for this level. All of the enemies have a POV (Point of View), and once you step into their view, they'll begin firing at you. Since they're mounted, you can escape by leaving their POV. This way, Team Alpha has to sneak past all of the guards and find Plasma's Boss, kill him, and rescue Iguana.

Wow! Haven't Posted here in a while!
I've been busy playing Worms 4: Mayhem! Man, that game is fun! Also, I've been playing alot of Civilization IV too. I started work on a couple of new flash projects, including a non-flash 3D-Animation movie based on my used-to-be-popular mod, Agent Jose. This one, though, doesn't follow the story of the original Agent Jose. Well enough about that! Let's get on with TA:

Added more stealth mechanics, including sound
Added extra objectives to the stealth level
Fixed a bunch of glitches (Hand Bug still not fixed)
Got some work done on the Redone menu
Removed the useless box with the weapon in it
Did some new sprites

That may seem like alot, but really it's not.

In all honesty, I actually think that menu is horrible. Make the bars horizontal and not so in your face. Mabye just have long rectangular boxes.

No it doesn't. It makes it ugly and ineffecient. Style comes with smaller changes that are not hugely in your face. Buttons and bars do not go accross the screen.

I don't really like dealing with too many files at the same time. I usually encrypt them into the game before releasing, but I can't do that with dlls.

TGF supports extensions though.

As for the gun-rotation thing, you should be able to just have the gun have two "animations" and switch between both depending on the gun's direction.

For example, if I put "If Mouse1 is pressed, create an object (0,-23) of gun 2 if gun facing right >1" Then I do the same code and sometimes it gets confused and shoots a second bullet going the other direction. There are also graphical issues with it.

Oh, well, since I have to double all the code that the left gun uses, I do it for the right gun. But sometimes since I do the same actions for two objects, the program gets confused and glitches out. For example, if I put "If Mouse1 is pressed, create an object (0,-23) of gun 2 if gun facing right >1" Then I do the same code and sometimes it gets confused and shoots a second bullet going the other direction. There are also graphical issues with it.You're clearly doing something wrong, because I've used TGF (now moved on to MMF) for years and never had any major issues. And instead of repeating actions, you can just use object groups. And I'm pretty sure there's a "shoot object" action instead of manually creating one.

You're clearly doing something wrong, because I've used TGF (now moved on to MMF) for years and never had any major issues. And instead of repeating actions, you can just use object groups. And I'm pretty sure there's a "shoot object" action instead of manually creating one.

For example, if you use "Group.Guns collides with Something", only the objects from Group.Guns that collide with Something will execute whatever actions you give them.

Just tried it. It's wierd; It does the action for all objects. All of a sudden, there are hands everywhere.:confused:

Online Play and Hot Seat is all present.

This is a forum game. That means that forumers will be present, but instead of in the story, they will be in the multiplayer portion of the game. You start out with one or two sigworms, and you can unlock more. Every mission has a rating. If you get a (currently unset) high enough rating, you will unlock a certain sigworm of a senior and respected forum member. I decided not to add people who nobody's heard of and add only well-known forum members. The sigworms that you unlock will be available in Online/Hot Seat mode, and that mode only. The story characters are all original and are not available for Online/Hot Seat. Although unconfirmed, I might also add a simple "Create-A-Worm" program that is simply the poor man's sigworm unlock.

First of all, the focus isn't gore and blood here. It's the story, the multiplayer, the character development, etc...

Second of all, It's not going to be the same as TA. It'll be completly different. Different sprites, different concept, etc...

I haven't even got started on the new one because I'm finishing TA. The only thing I've done is the poster and that's it. Oh and speaking of which, NEW SCREENSHOT!

This time, Kenny and I infiltrate Plasma's Boss' lair and try to rescue Iguana. This is the begining of the one-before-the-last chapter in TA. Chapters are basicly locales. Like Thailand was a chapter, and Manhatten was a chapter. You can see that the enemies have sight. This is because it's a stealth mission. You have to get to the end without raising the alarm, which is activated when you're in the sight of the enemies. You also walk slower because of, again, the stealth system.

So that's the reason why your worm's wearing some sort-of stealth-suit. I was just about to say what's with the suit, but there's no need. :)

That would depend. If he's making games so that he can play them later, then it's a bad thing to start a secpnd game. However, if he's making games because it's fun to make games, or for practice, then it could be a good thing.

I just make games for fun and/or as a hobby. Not entirely for practice, but I do learn along the way.

I just finished Mission 09. Moving onto Mission 10: Moonraker! I also plan a big cinematic video for the final cutscene. :eek:

Also, I might scrap Demo 4 and work on the other parts of the multiplayer and the tutorial for about a month and release it as the full game.

EDIT: Also, Alien King and Tactica have been shown for the first time, not to mention that THE MASTERMIND'S IDENTITY IS REVEALED!!:eek::eek: All I can say is...it will be surprising! Other apearances include Tactica, the purple guy at the end of Demo 3 and the Glove of Power, plus a brief apearence by the zombies from Thailand, as their true identity is revealed, and the Diamond makes a return :o

Sorry, Vader, Shockdude took the last part. Last year when I was first making this (Not this thread, the old one) You were actually in it :eek:. I pulled you out at the last second for this because you were so inactive. Don't worry though; I destroyed the spot with you, so nobody can take your place :). But glad to see you're back

As with the taliban/zombie army, this will all be revealed in Mission 09 which I completed 2 days ago, along with alot of other things. No, the pilots aren't the kamikaziers. They belong to the Mastermind. (A.K.A Plasma's Boss)

If you play the whole level, you'll see that there's a ladder sticking into the ground that you can climb into and I used a transparent rock tile to illistrate the fact that you're underground.

Actually, your worm never died earlier in the game.

First, your worm gets knocked out when losing to WormOfFire in the skies of Thailand, and managed to escape. Then your worm gets beaten again, this time by Iguana in Manhattan, but made a rather quick recovery from the battle, and escaped with the diamond.

Short answer: No.

Yay! Finaly finished the cutscene! About 1:15 minutes long. Took about 6 hours to make, not long. Everything is hand-animated. I took a more James Bond-ish approach towards the scene, with a comical entrance. And you can't have a comical entrance without the proper music, so I used a remix of the 007 theme I got from a friend. It's two actually. And the music actually blends into the entrance and other stuff.

I finally downloaded and played the demo today.

It was alright, I suppose.
I began working on this and experimented with different stuff, and learned alot. So in my opinion, the engine that I'm using is outdated.

A few days ago I learned how to program a proper level editor...Too bad I can't use it in TA since I already mapped it. I should be able to implement it in Crisis, though, and since they're about 6 KB, they can be easily downloaded from servers.

I finished a destructible terrain engine and I'm applying it to the levels in which you control the following:

It is deliberately in squares because it is the Pixeltron. Also, you can see Cisken in there. You'll have to beat him first to get his vehicle. Then you can go on a rampage crushing everything! OMG! The cameflauge is there because it's originaly Cisken's.

Well, they aren't really demos in the traditional sense. They're just early versions showing the progress of the game.

If you got no sound with your AVI files i think you need a better codec, i had it once then i downloaded some random codec found on the internet and it worked.

IIRC AVI is a Video File.AVIs are Audio Video Interleaves. They're connected but they work separate (thus why sometimes videos don't play audio or go off-sync), so he'll need both a codec for the video stream and a codec for the audio stream.

Playing MP3's requires a bass.dll which is, approximatly, 20 megs. X_X (TGF btw)

Oh, BTW SupSuper, I tried to open the TGF File but it wouldn't work. I think there's something wrong with my copy. It's been acting really strange since I got it (i.e it's a little untidy; windows are wierd, etc...) I'm trying some CS.

Maybe you have MMF2 Developer, since it's the only one I haven't tried myself.

And moving from TGF to MMF2 is a big change, but it still works like before, only with a revamped interface.

Ah, I finally tracked down the cause of the error. 'Seems that MMF2 thinks it's using a non-existant extension. Any ideas on how to fix something that doesn't exist? :p

Well if your game uses any TGF extensions that MMF2 doesn't have (or can't find), that would be the problem.

If they work on MMF2 too (or you can get versions of them that do), just copy them over to MMF2's Extensions folder and then it should all work fine.

If not, you'll have to remove said extensions from the game on TGF, import it to MMF2, and then put everything back together. (using other MMF2 extensions and what not)

I bought MG Anthology yesterday. It brings back alot of memories.

They look awesome! If only I didn't have to redo everything to get it working in-game, I would totally use them! Major thumbs up! Perhaps you could help with the next project?

Anyway, I finally got TA working with MMF2. The only problem is that it's extremely glitched, and basically nothing works so...I'm kinda at a dead-end.
