Hmn. Have you tried copying the disc to your hard drive (make a folder called "Worms 4 Install" or something) and running the setup.exe from that folder, and leave the disc in the drive for any anti-piracy measures on the disc?

Also, make sure you are a local admin of your PC, and be sure to close any other programs that may be running in the background, such as anti-virus software.

NOTE: I don't have the PC version (yet). I'm hoping it will arrive in the mail any day now, so I'm just throwing ideas out there.

See if the same problem accures when installing on other computers. If it does I would take it back to the shop you bought it at and demand a replacement.

It's probably not related to the disc. We here in the office have had problems on our new security builds of these new Dell PC's and they will not isntall things from some CDs, even logged in administratively. The error is always a problem with Data.cab or Data2.cab, no matter the software in question, be it Office 2003 or Printer Drivers for an HP.

I discovered a few months back that if I copy the disc to the hard drive it installs fine, as long as it can see the disc is still in the drive. *shrug*

It's likely a hardware setting somewhere, maybe BIOS? It's hard to say. In any case, hopefully this only hopefully only effects this one game for him.

*lol* i don't no exactly why i couldn't install the game from the DVD but no I know why I can't run the game.
I tried it very often but after the loading screen and the Codemasters Video the game closed itself and i saw the Desktop.
So i checked my System settings and I saw that i have only 128MB and not 256MB which are needed.
So I have to buy some more tomorrow. I'm a bit sad but it' ok.
Or could there be any other problems why the game won't run?

Xinos: Yes I will install it on other computers too to see if there is the same problem.

I don't think RAM would have prevented you (with out a specific warning by Team17 or something) from installing the game, but yeah, that could be why it won't load. Did you try to play with the lowest resolution? Maybe you can increase your swap file size (right click on My Computer, go to Properties->Advanced->Perforamce->Settings (top settings button, under Performance)->Advanced Tab and select "Change" at the very bottom to edit the size of your swap file. You probably are using 1.5xyour current RAM (of 128) so just manually set it (custom size) to something like 128-256. Restart your system and see if that gets you playing.

Yeah why i can't install it from the DVD is weird.
But why was I able to play the demo? Is there less RAM needed?

No, you can't really hurt your computer increasing the swap file size. Don't go crazy or anything, keep it capped at about 256, and don't try to go below the minimum specified at the bottom of the edit page. You should be fine.

If you could play the demo, that *is* baffling, but maybe the full version has different requirements than the full version.

Did you try to do a restart after you installed? Something simple like that could have been the problem.

Hm, ok if i can't destroy anythin than i will try it.
Well i hope that the demo has other requirements because I played the demo without any problems.

Yes, I restarted my Computer very often.
I hope it is because my RAM

BleedTheFr: I don't no what to do because i don't understand exactly what you mean. Could you please explain in an easy English what you mean? Because I can't buy new RAM because my Computer is to old and stores don't have this type of RAM anymore. So I have to do what you explained.
Does the picture help?
