I haven't played many pinball games, but team17's is great! It's a lot more realistic than 3D pinball for windows. I love the video mode where you fly the super sheep.

Worm's Pinball's greatest feature is the Worms table opening tune, which is absolutely brill. I freely admit that the main reason I bought Worms Blast was to get the Worms Pinball limited edition CD, and hence that tune.

The game itself was... um... okay.

Worms pinball is the best pinball game ever made imo, especialy regarding its realistic physics. Normaly, I never play pinball video games as nothing's as good as a reall pinball (my all time fav are Aladin and super mario ones). But I've spend so many hours on worms pīnball, and still plays it. Now, what could be better than this game? A real pīnball machine of it!

I'm shocked. It's ok if you don't like them but atleast play the games before judging, you might like them.

I don't have worms pinball but have played it. It's good for being a pinball-spinoff, but that doesn't say very much.

In fairness, it's not really a spin-off at all.

Team17 made Addiction Pinball, and it seemed folly not to include a Worms table, so they did. Then it was rebranded as Worms Pinball to sell it better. Similarly, a table was removed from Balls Of Steel (which I hold out as the greates pinball game ever - though I've yet to play Addiction, so that might me good too) to make way for a (substandard) Duke Nukem based one. Pinball on its own apparently doesn't sell.

What do you use to play SuperFrog/AB?Is Amiga a console or something?
I'd like to be able to play them but I don't know how

READ HIS POST! He said he hasn't played them! If Addiction pinball is the same thing as Worms Pinball, then it's alright, if not I don't know.

Personally, I hate Pinball. But that's just my view. I played it once when I got Blast, and haven't touched it since.

yeah.thats how I got it as well.but it would have been better to get pinball on its own because worms blast is so ************ and it only works on my grandads computer.

I'll only try superfrog if alien breeds a 12,15 or the scary 18.

Your logic is exceeded only by your vocabulary.

Really -- I don't think I know any twelve letter swearwords. Let me tell you something: games and movies are classified be idiots. Judging them by their certificate is imbecilic, but judging them by other games' certificates is, I think, unprecedented.

Oh, and the game is called Alien Breed, not alien breeds.

I think he meant Alien Breeds as in Alien Breed is a... he just left out the apostrophe. And you are right it is stupid to judge a game/film/whatever by it's age rating e.g. Sonic the Hedgehog's 3+, but it still an amazing game!

Firstly, about Worms Pinball, I wish it'd be made into a real pinball table. It'd be much more fun that way. I wouldn't go as far as saying it's the best computer pinball simulation ever, though. Pinball Dreams / Pinball Fantasies / Pinball Illusions still have a small lead in terms of realism as far as I'm concerned. Also, Slam Tilt was really good (not the Resurrection spinoff which wasn't made by the same developers). But for being developed by a company who really didn't have any tradition in developing pinball sims, Team17 did extremely well with Addiction and Worms Pinball.

Secondly, Alien Breed and Superfrog remain some of the best games ever made in their genres (which are 3rd-person-action / platform respectively). If you haven't played them, don't judge them. Download them from Dream17 instead and experience the history firsthand. Of course, to do that you'd have to know a thing or two about Amiga emulation.

beaver2009

Do you need an Amiga emulater to download them?

AndrewTaylor
27 Oct 2004, 12:58
No, only to play them.

beaver2009

Sorry, that was what I meant. And how do you get one of these Emulaters?Does it do anything to the rest of your computer?

1.I made 12 letters to make it funny. No,I don't know any either.

2.I meant it as is short for "alien breed is".

3.I'm just following the rules of what age.no harm in that.

4.will someone please tell me what the certificate is???!!!!!

double post edit:

great hints:
1. just hit the flippers madly

2.aim for bunkers and blast zones when in reach.

3.on the "geuss the card" game, pick the 3rd card on the 1st round.

THat's stupid - that's like saying you won't play Super Mario 64 because it doesn't have a dark, forboding gothic graphical style. Alien Breed (more specifically it's sequels) is by far one of the greatest games for the Amiga, if not Of All Time. And SuperFrog? SuperFrog makes Sonic the Hedgehog look like frickin' Pong!

IIRC The first two Alien Breed games and SuperFrog were released in 1991 and 1992 respectively. The ELSPA rating system was introduced in 1994 with Litil Divil and Zool 2 being two of the first titles to feature that old blue box age rating thing on them. Alien Breed: Tower Assault is a 15, as is ALien Breed 3D.

to me worms pinball is an average pinball game on the computer. I find it just as fun as simon the sorcerer pinball. Ive played quite a few pinball games because I went through a...pinball phase :o
If you wanted to play a really addictive/amazing/sense overloading/ pinball game go for titles such as The Big Race USA or, as AT has rightly aprroved of, Balls of Steel.

Simon the Sorcerer Pinball was a terrible effort on the part of Adventure Soft and I hope they're ashamed. AdPin remains one of the greatest pinball games of all time, and you're talking to someone who has quite ltuierally PLAYED THEM ALL.

(Pinball Prelude was rubbish).

[Off topic but I don't know where else to post it note: Am I still watched? S'okay, I know what happened now: You forgot me. Okay, I've changed since then, I swear, so if you can "Unwatch" (I couldn't think of a better word) me? Thanks]

Wow, Worms Pinball! I have it on the PS1, I once got over 600,000,000 points and then the stupid thing crashed and went to a black screen, I was REALLY ANNOYED, I spent 1 hour getting that score. Oh crap, I didn't realise this thread was from 2004.
