Hello people...

I have been a big fan of the worms series since I played the original PC demo back in 1997. About three years ago I purchased Worms 2 and I loved it. I haven't played it for three years because I am very arrogant, you see, I cannot get past level 44 and I refuse to play online with other people or in skirmishes until I can beat this level. I have tried over and over again but to no avail.

There is only one online walkthrough that I have found but it hasn't been of any use. It says:

Mission 44: Difficulty: 5
This mission is hard. It's sudden death with everybody having 1 health. Use the your worm on the right and aim straight up. Shoot the barrel. It should kill the 2 above you, you, and the one below you. Sure, you made a sacrifice, but you also took down 3 blue worms with you. The next couple of worms shouldn't be a problem. Try to shoot the barrel and kill 2 worms at once.

This just doesn't seem to work. Although I don't even need to make a sacrifice I run out of worms way too quickly!

Any help from you guys would ge greatly appreciated...

In addition, I know this is the wrong forum, how do I get started on the PSX version of Worms Armageddon? The stupid training course always resets when I lose! Dammit.

My email is ohbrown@ihug.com.au... cheers.

Owen.

Is there nobody here at all who can help me?

The second last level is the one with all the question marks... The password is "FINISHTHEMISSIONS". It's sudden death with 4 against 8 which is really 3 against 8 because the enemy gets the first turn.

Please help...

Are you sure you are doing it right? i have finished that mission about 5 times and that worked well

So am I to assume this is how it's done? I cannot find another barrel that will kill two worms, that is why I am so stuck.

I am aware of the general unwritten rules of all forums but chose to disregard them in this instance because I am so desperate...

I really want to go back to enjoying this game!

owen, I haven't played this level in a long while, but I have one idea for you...

when you are down to 1 worm, pay attention to which enemy worm just went. You can fool the AI by positioning your worm on top of or directly next to the worm that just went, assuming that it has more than 1 worm left. I use this method a lot to gain the advantage. Hope it helps...

I know this is *ahem* a bit late, but I just passed this level today myself, after hours of frustration, and here's how you do this.

First, switch to your rightmost worm, the one inside a question mark with two enemy worms above it and one below. You have to take out the worm below you without killing yourself. This is a bit tricky, but you can master it in two or three tries. Choose a grenade, set the fuse to one second, and throw it off the edge aiming at an 85 degree angle to the left with little force. Quickly retreat left and position yourself below the left of the worms above you. The grenade should fly up slightly, then explode as it falls back down, killing the enemy worm below you but leaving you unharmed.

The enemy now kills another of your worms, leaving you with two. When it's your turn again, take your left worm, the one you didn't use the previous turn, and drop to the bottom part of the question mark next to the barrel. Now, standing right on the edge so as not to hurt yourself, fire a bazooka straight up to kill the worm above you on the question mark.

The enemy should now try to kill your right worm with one of the worms above by throwing a grenade in the air and having it explode next to it. However, it shouldn't come close enough, only making a slight dent in the question mark. If the enemy succeeds in killing your worm you have failed, try step one again until you manage to position your worm in a way that it won't be killed. It should be standing under the worm that's on the left on top of the question mark, slightly more to the left than it. This is fairly easy to work out.

For the next turns, proceed with the left worm, the one now on the bottom part of the question mark. The enemy will continue to try killing your other worm unsuccessfully while the left worm is still alive. You have three worms to the left of your left worm: One on the bottom of a question mark next to a barrel, one on top of another question mark, and one inside it. You need to kill all of them, and you get four turns to do it before your worm sinks in the rising water.

For the first turn, stand as far on the edge of the bottom part of the question mark as you can. Aim at the bottom of the bottom part of the question mark with the barrel and the worm on it. You need to fire a bazooka in such a way as to destroy that entire piece of terrain, or as much as possible of it, so firing at the bottom blows up the bottom, while the barrel blows up the top.

For the second turn, fire a bazooka at the worm on top of the question mark to the left of you. This is why we cleared the piece of debris in the previous turn, since your bazooka will most likely fly through where it used to be. In any case, kill the worm on top of the question mark.

For the third turn, fire a bazooka at the worm inside the question mark. Fire to hit the side relatively low, that should kill it.

You have one turn to spare in case you failed any of the previous tasks. I usually failed to kill either the top or bottom worm in/on the leftmost populated question mark, so this came in handy.

As the water nearly engulfs your worm, and the three worms to the left are dead, teleport high into the air above the highest worm in the level. You should fall on it, killing both of you.

Now, with your one remaining worm, go as far left as you can, and fire a bazooka right and up at an angle of roughly forty five degrees, then immediately walk as far right as you can. The desired result is the left upper worm falling in the water, and the right upper worm dying. The right worm's death blows up the barrel, but the napalm inside shouldn't touch you if you're far enough to the right, inside the crater you've just created. The wind on this turn has always been to the left, for me, as well.

You have now passed the level.
